Written by Daniel Jones - June 26. 2004

It seemed like years, but Fox put smiles of our faces when they released Season 2 of The Simpsons. This DVD includes 22 episodes and they crammed the DVD with loads of extra features.

When they made this DVD, they tried hard to impress the buyer and they did.

This was also the season when the first ever Treehouse of Horror aired.

PICTURE QUALITY

The picture quality begins to improve during this season but it still wasn’t that good. 3,5/5

EXTRA FEATURES

There are loads on this DVD guaranteed to get you watching the DVD for hours and hours and hours. 4/5

DISC ONE

As usual, there is audio commentary from the experts themselves
and some pieces of commentary are actually quite interesting to listen to, especially the first commentary on “Bart Gets An F” about when the Cosby Show was beating the Simpsons during the Second Season. It’s also quite funny as well.

DISC FOUR

If you’re looking for loads of features, this is the disc because it’s crammed full of ‘em.

There’s:

· Bart’s two songs “Do The Bartman” and “Deep Deep Trouble”

· Early interview with James L. Brooks and Matt Groening about The Simpsons, which is quite interesting.

· Bart at the American Music Awards

· The Simpsons presenting the Emmy Awards.

· Sam Simon telling about the creation of an episode

· PLUS foreign language clips, the classic Butterfinger Commercials and Early Sketches

SUMMARY

Overall a good DVD but it still lacked the good old comedy Simpsons charm. But some episodes are quite boring to watch and some are very enjoyable, so really it’s a bit of good and bad. 4/5
